Soldatenheim Dining at The OGH

With the screen adaptation of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society set to hit the big screen this April we are thrilled to be offering a special menu alongside The Guernsey Heritage Festival. The OGH played a part during the Occupation as a ‘Soldatenheim’, or Soldiers Home.
Our specially themed menu will give you a flavour of what mealtimes were like for those officers and soldiers staying in the Soldatenheim with a 21st century twist and the finest local ingredients.

Heritage Afternoon Tea with Dr Gilly Carr

Come to the OGH and join us for Afternoon Tea and listen to Cambridge University lecturer Dr Gilly Carr, talk about the resisters, heroes or villains of the Occupation.
Enjoy delicate finger sandwiches, freshly made scones and a glorious array of cakes and delicacies all served with a selection of teas.

Due to popular demand we have printed Issue 2 of our our exclusive Crown Club Gin Passport, designed to help you on a journey through our 43 unique locally and internationally produced gins. Each spirit features its own bespoke garnish and tonic to accentuate the individual characteristics of the gin. 

Your passport is stamped as you taste your way around the world of gin and on completion of the passport you will receive a complimentary bottle of locally produced gin.

Bottomless Brunch

Join us for a fantastic range of healthy brunch options including butternut squash pancakes with feta and roasted tomato. If you prefer a traditional brunch then we have something for you too including vegetarian options. Order a main dish and enjoy your choice of a bottomless Bellini, Bloody Mary or Prosecco for 90 minutes.

The Curry Room ‘Pop-Up’

Following the success of our Curry Room ‘pop-up’ last year, we will be serving more delicious curry on The Crown Pier again this year. Enjoy a traditional Durban lamb or vegetable korma bunny chow, prepared by our talented Curry Room Chef Bronwyn Coetzee, who hails from our sister hotel The Oyster Box, in Durban.

Guernsey Mini Food Festival Dining

We are proud to be a part of the Taste Guernsey Mini Food Festival and are delighted to be hosting a dining experience with a menu inspired by The OGH’s role as a Soldatenheim during the occupation, featuring local favourites such as Tian of Guernsey crab, roasted pork tenderloin and Guernsey Gâche “pain perdu”.
