The Old Government House, you've guessed it, was once the official residence of the Queen's representative to the Bailiwick of Guernsey - The Lt. Governor. Later turned into a hotel, in 1895 Guernsey was describing its clientele as 'of a high class and aristocratic order, which have included many of the royal and noble personages of England and the Continent'.
With a magnificent location in the heart of St. Peter Port and stunning views of the harbour, the hotel was recently acquired by Red Carnation Hotels and joins their luxury collection of hotels worldwide. The hotel has undergone a lavish refurbishment but still retains all the elegance and charm of this bygone era, upgraded to provide 21st century amenities and every conceivable comfort. Excellent locally inspired cuisine, superb spa and health facilities, luxurious accommodation and the island's most inviting fine restaurant, convivial bar and popular brasserie are just some of the attractions.
