Welcome... to a very special hotel Welcome to The Old Government House Hotel & Spa - the most historically famous hotel in the Channel Islands - dating back to 1858 and formerly the official residence of the Queen's representative to the Bailiwick of Guernsey - The Lt. Governor. The OGH (as it is affectionately known) retains many of the features from that bygone era although "she" has been sympathetically and lovingly restored to encompass those modern facilities that you would expect in a luxury hotel. The OGH is also unique in retaining a timeless charm and elegance - an oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our facilities range from our luxurious Renaissance Salon de Beaute, Revolution Spa & Gym, French themed Brasserie and intimate Governor's fine-dine restaurant (arguably the most romantic restaurant on the Island). Our 2 AA rosette cuisine, under the direction of French Chef, Jerome Barbançon, is now regarded as the finest on the Island whilst the hotel has once again been awarded a coveted Visit Britain Gold Award for service and hospitality for the fourth successive year. However, I believe the key to our on-going success is our dedicated and professional staff who "make all the difference" in ensuring that your stay with us is both comfortable and relaxing and I look forward to personally welcoming you to our very special hotel. In fact, the "grand old dame" of the Channel Islands and now a member of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection. | |
