Category: Art & Culture Dates: Thursday, 27 February 2014 to Saturday, 29 March 2014 Guernsey's rich and vibrant culture will be celebrated by its inhabitants towards the end of next month with a special festival that will include a veritable smorgasbord of cultural performances and exhibitions. The month-long Eisteddfod event commences on February 27th, with music competitions and speech and drama showcases set to be the first exciting events to kick off the enjoyment. These will be followed by sessions about the Guernsey variety of the French language, which is still widely spoken on the island, while dates for photography, cookery, floral arrangement and silk painting displays are yet to be announced. The festival closes with concerts at Beau Sejour on March 26th and 27th. If you haven't seen enough of the island by the time you've finished the festival, you can take advantage of the Discover Guernsey package at The Old Government House Hotel, which includes car hire for two days inclusive of insurance.
