Luxury Guernsey hotel guests will be able to see a new stage production of The Long and the Short and the Tall at the Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts from May 2nd to 4th 2013.

Performed by the Guernsey Youth and Studio Theatre, the show was penned by the acclaimed Willis Hall and was first staged in 1959, before later being made into a film starring Richard Todd, Richard Harris and Laurence Harvey.

Set in a Malayan jungle during World War II, the story focuses on a British patrol who are cut off from base camp by Japanese invaders and are eventually stumbled upon by an enemy soldier, who they take prisoner.

The hard-hitting play features a cast of characters from a variety of backgrounds and ponders the brutal nature of war, including the key question of what it takes to kill another person.

This classic play could prove to be an ideal evening's entertainment for people enjoying a Discover Guernsey package at The Old Government House Hotel.

Visitors will receive two days' complimentary car hire, a three-course dinner, a special picnic lunch hamper and much more during their holiday.
