A Great Way to Celebrate at The Old Government House

Special occasions and anniversaries cannot be allowed to pass unremarked and The Old Government House Hotel & Spa in Guernsey - part of Red Carnation, a luxury collection of five and four star family-run boutique hotels - has come up with a gem of an idea to give guests extra special memories.

Beautiful Guernsey, barely an hour by air from the mainland, makes the ideal romantic escape – surrounded by sea, with dramatic beaches, unspoilt cliff tops, plus a dash of French flair and joie de vivre, it's an especially inspiring prospect for those looking to turn a special event into a magical memory.

With this in mind, The Old Government House has teamed up with Guernsey-based jeweller Catherine Best whose unique creations have won her recognition and accolades across the globe from clients and professional institutes alike. The hotel has partnered with her to offer guests a special visit to her picturesque studio and showroom. They'll be able to view her current collections, plus enjoy a personal consultation with Catherine, or one of her experienced team, to discuss the design of a special ring or piece of jewellery to mark the occasion.

This is just one of the highlights from the hotel's Celebration Package. Other value-added extras include return flights from London Gatwick, two nights' accommodation with Full English Breakfast (plus Champagne on one of those days), flowers and chocolates in your room on arrival and two days Class A car hire.

Guests can also make full use of the hotel's spa and wellness centre. There are two whirlpool baths, a sauna, a steam room, a chill-out zone and a team of beauty therapists - everything required to soothe, refresh and rejuvenate body and mind. For the more energetic, there's even a fully equipped gym with an expert fitness team.

The hotel's Governor's Restaurant, with only twelve place settings, is arguably Guernsey's most romantic and intimate fine dining establishment. Chef de Cuisine Jérôme Barbançon creates seasonal menus that celebrate many of the classic dishes of his native France. A small but select range of traditional wines from some of the best regional growers in France complement the exceptional cuisine.

The stage is therefore set for a romantic experience par excellence.
